Due to the Writers' Guild of America strike in 1989, long-time James Bond scriptwriter 理查德·麦鲍姆 was unable to continue working on the screenplay during production of Licence to Kill (1989). A long time member of the Guild, Maibaum felt he could not betray his membership and ghost-write the script. Wilson had to complete the screenplay on his own. This was to be the fifth and final pairing for the Maibaum-Wilson writing team which had started with For Your Eyes Only (1981).
First ever credited acting performance in a James Bond film was for 择日而亡 (2002). He played General Chandler. In this film, he can also be seen uncredited as a Man leaning against a car in Cuba.
For the The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), he made a small contribution acting as an uncredited technical consultant. He mathed some integral calculus in relation to the spiral car stunt.
He has been credited as a fully-fledged producer on the "James Bond" films ever since A View to a Kill (1985) until the present.
